Phnom Penh, 16 July 2024: LONG Kemvichet, Director General of International Trade at the Ministry of Commerce and Cambodia's Senior Economic Officials Meeting (SEOM) Lead, led the Cambodian delegation at the ASEAN SEOM-Dialogue Partner Consultations held in Vientiane, Lao PDR, from July 12 to 14.
The Ministry of Commerce reported that the event, hosted under Lao PDR's ASEAN Chairmanship 2024, aimed to monitor progress, discuss, and provide guidance on key agenda items related to ASEAN Economic Integration with its Dialogue Partners.
Key agenda items included the progress of implementing Free Trade Agreements (FTAs), the status of negotiations for establishing and upgrading FTAs, the implementation of economic cooperation activities, and the preparation of progress reports, economic deliverables, and other related documents for the upcoming Consultations between ASEAN Economic Ministers and the ASEAN Dialogue Partners, scheduled for September 2024.
The consultations in Vientiane featured several significant meetings: the 46th SEOM-MOFCOM Consultation, SEOM-METI Consultation 2/29, 40th SEOM-ROK Consultation, 32nd SEOM-EU Consultation, 20th SEOM-Canada Consultation, 5th SEOM-UK Consultation, 43rd SEOM-CER Consultation, 39th SEOM-India Consultation, 16th SEOM-Russia Consultation, 41st SEOM-Plus Three, and the 13th East Asia Summit Senior Economic Officials Meeting (EAS SEOM).
